Rebecca's Physical Therapy was founded in 2006 with the intention of helping those who suffer from incontinence and issues related to the pelvic floor and pregnant body. Traditional and specialized evidence based physical therapy services are offerred.
Rebecca Stimac, PT, MS
Bachelor of Science from Medical University of South Carolina (1988), Masters of Physical Therapy from University of Minnesota (1997).
I began specializing in issues of the pelvic floor when I developed incontinence and multiple orthopedic issues after having 5 children. My search for healing led me to learn about non invasive treatments for the pelvic floor as well as treatment techniques to alleviate pain in the pregnant woman. The practice has grown to include treating pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, incontinence and chronic pain. The most gratifying part of my practice is helping patients find their path to health and healing and in doing so, override their feelings of defeat and helplessness. Because of the sensitive nature of these treatments that include talking about our most intimate parts, patients often will suffer in silence and endure years of pain or embarrassment. I am honored to be a part of restoring self esteem and healing so that patients can move forward to full living.
Paige Bothman, BS
Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Lander University (2009).
I joined Rebecca's Physical Therapy in 2009. Having just graduated from college I had experienced multiple physical therapy internships. I knew I wanted to work for a practice that had the highest quality of care and gave their patients one-on-one attention. I found this to be true at Rebecca's Physical Therapy. I truely love being a part of the patients care and helping them regain a lifestyle that they once had.
Dawn Durante, MPT
Graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill 1995, BA in Biology and Western Carolina University in 1998, Masters in Physical Therapy
Originally from North Carolina I began practicing Physical Therapy in Atlanta until 2001when my husband and I moved to Charleston.
As we prepared for the birth of our first child with extensive childbirth education, I realized my Physical therapy education and experience would enable me to work in harmony with my body during labor and delivery. This theory proved true not only for the births of my 3 children but also as I began to assist other women with their labors.
As I mothered my children, I turned to the La Leche League (an International breastfeeding support group led by volunteering mothers) to expand my knowledge of lactation and in 2003 I trained to be a La Leche League Leader. In the same year, my son, Joe, was born with Down syndrome and I became involved with the Down Syndrome Association of the Lowcountry and the Buddy Walk.
In 2009 I joined Rebecca’s Physical Therapy. Everyday I am able to nurture my love of pregnancy, labor, delivery and breastfeeding; give patients individual and customized attention; expand my knowledge of pelvic pain and incontinence and share my day with the most amazing patients and coworkers.
